Leaf springs, also known as leaf springs, are elastic elements formed by stacking and bending several elastic steel (or composite) sheets. They are widely used in the suspension systems of wheeled vehicles to absorb road impacts, support the vehicle's weight, and transmit torque. Their simple structure, low cost, and high load-bearing capacity make them a traditional core suspension component for heavy-duty vehicles such as automobiles, trucks, and railroad cars. The leaf springs are fixed to the vehicle frame by hinges or bolts at both ends. They bend when subjected to vertical impact from the wheels, and the elastic recovery process stores and releases energy, thereby achieving shock absorption, support, and torque transmission. During compression, the relative sliding of the leaves creates frictional damping, further enhancing comfort.
